Indoor Air Quality Questions
Q: How often should I change my filter(s)?
Answer: Different filters have different life spans. A cheap horse hair filter is recommended to be replaced every month. A Pleated filter should be checked once a month and replaced no later than 90 days after being installed.
Q. Which filter(s) should I buy?
Answer: We HIGHLY recommend pleated filters.
Q. Why does Plains Heating recommend pleated filters?
Answer: Pleated filters are made of a denser material that is capable of blocking more particles from infiltrating the furnace. The pleated filter is rippled throughout the filter and when stretched out has a larger surface area allowing for more air flow.
Q. How often should I have my heating and air conditioning system cleaned?
Answer: New heating and air conditioning equipment is required to be maintained on an annual basis during the warranty period to keep it from voiding a warranty. Older systems are recommended to be cleaned annually to prevent potential and avoidable failures in the system. However, it is the responsibility of each homeowner to decide when the system should be serviced.
Q. What is a preferred customer?
Answer: Maintainance agreement customers and any customer whom we have installed equipment for.
Q. Why is my boiler making noise?
Answer: The possible answer is a boiler may have air in the system.
